We pay high taxes in Richmond.  We get excessive crime and lousy schools and a housing agency that harbors crime and doesn't know where its money is. 

• Among 135 Virginia cities and counties, Richmond ranks fifteenth from the worst in terms of how hard they tax their citizens.
   

• Despite recent improvements, Richmond has the seventh worst crime rate in Virginia among the jurisdictions with populations >10,000.
   

• The Richmond schools cost $3,903 per pupil more than average but deliver SOL scores that are low and dropping.
   

• The largest landlord in the City is, to put it kindly, dysfunctional.  Partly because of that, RRHA property is a hotbed of crime.

We can get poor schools and unsafe streets at a much lower cost.  So why are we paying so much money to get such awful results?
